Understanding and Assessing Personality Disorder: Training in the IPDE, DSM-V alternative model and ICD-11 approach: MAY 2020Book Now
Date: 21st and 22nd May 2020
This training focuses on understanding the nature and development of personality disorder, before progressing on to the assessment of personality disorder and developing formulations. Focus will be on the IPDE (International Personality Disorder Examination). This is considered a gold standard means of assessing personality disorder. It will also capture the NETSCID component for PD and ICD-11.
The Alternative Model to Assessing Personality Disorder outlined in the new DSM-V will be presented, along with the ICD-11, to allow attendees to assess using a range of approaches. Attendees will score IPDE clinical video interviews and formulate using the DSM-V alternative model. They will also be able to account for how the ICD-11 would capture personality disorder. Please note that the training does not cover treatment, focusing instead on understanding, professional management (e.g. boundaries), assessment and a brief formulation of cases.
The cost includes provision of lunch, handouts, reading material and CPD certificate. There are limited places on this course. Block booking discounts are available for services booking three or more places. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
The training commences at 9:30am and ends by 4:30pm on each day.
Trainers: Professor Jane L Ireland. Professor Ireland has been training on personality disorder for 20 years. She works within high secure psychiatric practice and is author of the ASSIST personality disorder treatment programme.

Venue: CCATS, Westbourne House, 3 Lockwood Avenue, Poulton-le-Fylde, Lancashire, FY6 7AB. This is a non-residential course. The training cost does not include accommodation. Joining instructions will be forwarded one month prior to the event.
