This workshop is for those already familiar with and able to complete personality disorder assessments, using categorical diagnostic approaches (e.g. IPDE, SCID-PD), but who want to either refresh their knowledge base and/or apply developments from ICD-11 and the DSM-5 Alternative approach. Specifically, it will cover:
- Conceptualisations of personality disorder and changes to this.
- DSM-5 Alternative model and how to approach this.
- ICD approach and how to apply this.
- The completion of more detailed personality disorder diagnoses.
Those unable to complete personality disorder analyses are also welcome to attend, to increase their knowledge base, but please note that attendance for such delegates will not allow them to complete ICD-11 or DSM-5 personality diagnoses.
Trainers: Professor Jane L Ireland. Professor Ireland has been training on personality disorder for over 20 years. She works within high secure psychiatric practice and is author of the ASSIST personality disorder treatment programme.
Course materials: All attendees will be provided with a CPD certificate indicating attendance upon request. Sufficient materials will be provided to allow participants to engage in this workshop.
Venue: Online training event (via Zoom)
Who can attend: This is an event focusing on up-skilling those who already complete personality disorder assessments. However, it is also open to anyone who has an interest in this area. Please note that you have to be appropriately qualified to complete personality disorder assessment (e.g. psychiatrist, specific divisions of psychologists) and trained in a specific diagnostic system. This event will not allow those who are not qualified to complete personality disorder assessments. Such individuals would be attending for CPD purposes only.
