Date
9th - 13th September 2024, inclusive, 9.30am - 4.30pm UK time each dayCourse Summary
The training focuses on the long term violence therapy programme – Life Minus Violence-Enhanced and now also covers the sexual violence version of the programme – Life Minus Violence- HSB (Harmful Sexual Behaviour). The training allows delegates to deliver both therapies as they are closely aligned. These are group based therapy programmes that can also be completed on an individual basis. They are modular based and comprise seven modules. These can be completed as stand-alone modules for therapy purposes. The modules broadly cover motivation, developmental background, emotional management, interpersonal skills, offence/behaviour analysis, consequences, and relapse prevention.
The training includes core content on the theory underpinning aggression and sexual violence, including training on empirically based intervention approaches. Delegates will prepare and deliver therapy sessions to role-players acting as clients, and obtain feedback, as part of a group.
LMV-E is currently running within some secure sites in the NHS, in some parts of the private and public prison sector, and in community settings. LMV-HSB launched in August 2014. The age group for both programmes is adolescents to adults. The cost includes provision of lunch, handouts, manuals and CPD certificate. There are very limited places on this course due to demand.
