Date

27th - 28th January 2027, 9.30am - 4.30pm (UK Time)

Course Summary

Delegates will be trained in the RSVP-V2, a Structured Professional Judgement guideline for assessing and managing risk for sexual violence. The event will cover use and administration of the RSVP-V2 (Hart et al 2022), using case studies to illustrate. At the end of the training delegates will be able to apply the RSVP-V2 clinically, develop formulations and complete risk scenarios. The trainers will also illustrate what else is required to apply the SVR-20 (Sexual Violence Risk Scale), if they have a preference to do so.
Crucially, and to advance delegate knowledge even further, the event will also capture in detail the application to understanding and assessing sexual murder and paraphilic disorders. This will allow delegates to maximise their understanding of sexual violence risk assessment to application with complex cases. This can be neglected from standard training. In addressing this area delegates will learn how to identify a case as sexual murder and how to identify various paraphilias, distinguishing paraphilias from paraphilic disorders. In doing so this will enhance treatment and risk management planning.

Delegates are expected to have an RSVP-v2 manual in order to attend the training (the RSVP-v2 items will be needed for scoring the clinical cases). If they do not already possess this, one can be ordered from https://www.annarbor.co.uk/ (see https://www.annarbor.co.uk/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=419_671). Delegates will of course require a manual to use the RSVP-V2 clinically after the event. Any delegate having difficulty securing the manual are encouraged to contact the trainers direct via tiofp.ltd@gmail.com
